About Indiana WX Online… Now the Indiana Weather Network
Indiana WX Online—originally launched as IndianaWeatherOnline—was founded in 1999 by Brandon Redmond (Cosinteno) while he was a student at Driver Middle School in Winchester, Indiana. What began as a middle school hobby quickly grew into a dedicated platform for providing timely, accurate weather updates to residents across Indiana and Ohio. Fueled by a passion for meteorology and public safety, the page evolved into both a business and a trusted community resource for monitoring inclement weather. Over the past 25 years, Brandon maintained the page through career moves to Idaho and Texas, working in television, aviation weather, and environmental sciences—all while continuing to keep his fellow Hoosiers and Buckeyes informed.
In March 2025, Brandon passed the torch to the team behind Michigan Storm Chasers, who was already operating in Indiana through the Indiana Storm Chasing Network, confident they would uphold the same values of accurate, easy-to-understand, and community-focused weather coverage that made Indiana WX Online so successful. Though he has stepped away from daily operations, Brandon will continue to contribute occasional guest posts during major storms or severe weather events. Indiana WX Online remains a reliable and respected source for weather updates, rooted in a legacy of dedication and public service.
From the Indiana Weather Online staff: "Brandon and his team were at the forefront of online weather coverage, paving the way for amateur and professional meteorologists alike to have a career outside of broadcast television. We look forward to continuing to serve the state of Indiana! We have already been operating over on Indiana Storm Chasing Network, but we look forward to serving a much larger audience. We have many new things planned for the page. We will have you guys covered from beginning to end from Mother Nature’s worst."
